Mt Prospect Carjacking: Police Arrest Chicago Man For March Incident
Fingerprints from the 27-year-old accused of the crime were reportedly found on a stolen license plate, according to police.

MOUNT PROSPECT, IL — Saying they used fingerprints discovered on a stolen license plate, police made an arrest from a March carjacking in Mount Prospect. Adrian Resendiz, 27, of the 7000 block of North Ridge Ave., Chicago, is accused of felony vehicle theft conspiracy, stemming from an incident that occurred on March 19.
Bond for Resendiz was set at $200,000 on June 29, and he is due back in court on July 28.
According to police, an aggravated vehicular hijacking took place during the evening of March 19 in the 1800 block of North Burning Bush Lane. Police responded to the scene shortly after 11 p.m. regarding a white Hyundai Santa Fe. During the subsequent investigation, the car was located and recovered abandoned on March 23 in Chicago.

Police said the vehicle was towed back to their headquarters and processed for evidence. During the processing, officers located a stolen license plate affixed to the vehicle, along with fingerprint evidence on the plate. The evidence was sent to a crime lab, where it was determined that the fingerprints belonged to Resendiz, according to police. Investigators confirmed Resendiz knew the Hyundai was stolen when he affixed the stolen license plate to the vehicle.
