New Tasers for Arlington Heights Cops
The 87 new devices will cost the department a little more than $100K.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Officers for the Arlington Heights Police Department will be receiving new Tasers to replace their aging devices, the Daily Herald reports.
The department will receive 87 new Tasers — enough for every officer on the force — at a cost of $106,140, the report stated. The weapons will be paid for from the police's asset forfeiture funds, the report added.
New Tasers are needed because the warranty has expired on the police department's current stock, purchased in 2008, the report stated. Replacing the Tasers also is more cost effective than repairing them, the report added.
