According to police, shots were fired at around 4:05 p.m. Friday, in the 1800 block of Ash Street. A preliminary investigation revealed that a male, later identified as Reynoso, exited a black Ford F-150 and fired several gunshots at an occupied vehicle traveling northbound on Ash Street. Reynoso then reportedly fled the area on foot, leaving behind his vehicle.

Officers were able to contact the registered owner of the vehicle, Reynoso's mother, and later that same evening, Freddie Reynoso turned himself in to Des Plaines investigators.

Police said Reynoso willingly spoke with investigators and admitted to discharging a Glock firearm at a passing vehicle on Ash Street. He said that he recognized the driver and vehicle from a previous encounter where the person came to his house, armed with a gun, wanting Reynoso to exit.

Reynoso told police the two had an ongoing dispute over a female but would not provide the person's name. As he was walking down Ash Street, he said the vehicle was circling the block, at which time he shot several times at the vehicle. Reynoso said he ran from the area to a friend's house in the 1800 block of Pine Street, where he hid the firearm in a backpack. Investigators were able to recover a Glock .40 caliber handgun after the homeowner on Pine Street allowed investigators to search for the firearm. Six shell casings were recovered at the scene.

According to police, Reynoso does not possess a valid Firearm Owner's Identification Card or Concealed Carry License.
