Overnight Shooting Suspect In Custody: Village Of Schaumburg
Police were asking motorists to stay out of the area Wednesday morning.
SCHAUMBURG, IL — A suspect in an overnight shooting was in custody Wednesday morning, according to the Village of Schaumburg. Police first sent out community alerts regarding a manhunt for the suspect at around 8:30 a.m.
In a 9:22 a.m. social media post, police said the man was in custody and "there is no longer believed to be a threat." A large police presence had been searching for the man in the area of Meacham Road, south of Schaumburg Road.
Drone teams and K-9 units assisted in the suspect's apprehension. Police had requested motorists to say out of the area.

"Officers will be in the area for further investigation," the Village of Schaumburg said. "We appreciate the cooperation of the community in providing information and staying out of the area."
