Package Stolen From Porch; Glue In Lock: Police Blotter
The Arlington Heights Police Department shares reports made in recent weeks.
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The Arlington Heights Police Department responded to a variety of theft and criminal damage to property complaints in recent weeks. Here is a look at some of those reports:
- The Arlington Heights Police Department responded to the 500 block of Ridge Court at 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 6 for a report of a package that was taken from the front porch of a home. The package had been delivered and left unattended at the home. The contents of the package are valued at $140.
- Authorities say an unknown offender or offenders filled the lock at an apartment unit in the 300 block of East Seegers Road with glue or an epoxy-like substance. The damage, which occurred between 11 p.m. on Dec. 7 and 10 a.m. on Dec. 8, prevented the victim from using a key to lock the door to his unit.
- The front passenger side window of a vehicle was shattered while parked at LA Fitness, 345 E. Palatine Road, between 8:30 and 9:45 p.m. on Dec. 6. It does not appear that anything was taken from the vehicle.
The Arlington Heights Police Department is reminding residents that burglaries and thefts are preventable. They are urging residents to lock their cars, take their keys with them and to remove all valuables from the vehicle.
