Persons Of Interest ID'd In Shooting At Elk Grove Village Home: Police

Police have also identified a possible car involved in the Sunday morning shooting, in which a man was shot in the head outside his home.

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL — Reiterating there is no danger to the public, the Elk Grove Village Police Department said Monday it has identified several persons of interest, and a possible car involved in a Sunday morning shooting where a man sustained a bullet wound to the head outside his home. An investigation into the incident continues.

At around 4:15 a.m. Sunday, police were dispatched to a call about a person shot outside a home in the 500 block of Dogwood Trail. The man was eventually found near Aspen Lane with a bullet wound to the head, according to police.

First aid was rendered until the fire department arrived, and took him to Lutheran General Hospital. Police said an unoccupied grey Toyota Camry belonging to an acquaintance of the man also struck with bullets in the driveway, as well as a single-family home across the street from the home.

Police were able to identify the persons of interest, along with a dark-colored sedan possibly involved, by retrieving neighborhood cameras, using license plate readers and other cameras in the area.
