Pit Bull Attacks, Kills Corgi In Arlington Heights
The 23-pound Corgi was attacked by the 60-pound pit bull while out on a walk with her owner in Arlington Heights.
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — A pit bull owner has been cited and her dog could be euthanized after it attacked and killed a 2-year-old Welsh corgi named Yo-Yo Monday in Arlington Heights, the Daily Herald reports. Alice Sylvester Stepanek was out walking her dog in the area of Walnut and Chestnut avenues on Monday afternoon when the pit bull came charging down the street and attacked the smaller pup.
The pit bull's owner followed and was able to get a leash on the 60-pound dog, but while the owner was walking away with her dog, the pit bull once again got away, returning to attack Yo-Yo, according to the article.
A neighbor tried to help the 23-pound pup, kicking the pit bull off and getting a leash around the dog's leg before handing it off to the owner, who again lost control of her pet.
