ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The following information comes from the Arlington Heights Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

ARRESTS

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

  • Alanis Aragon Martinez, 19, is accused of residential burglary, and was arrested at 10:20 p.m. July 3, in the 0-50 block of N. Beverly Lane. Bond was set at $20,000 and a court date of July 29 was assigned.
  • Saul Avila, 18, is accused of residential burglary, and was arrested at 10:20 p.m. July 3, in the 0-50 block of N. Beverly Lane. Bond was set at $20,000 and a court date of July 29 was assigned.

VIOLATION OF BAIL BOND

  • Angel Jai Cuatepitzi-Gonzalez, 24, had a warrant for violation of bail bond, and was arrested at 12:06 a.m. July 6, at W. Algonquin Road and S. Briarwood Drive. Bond was set at $3,000.
  • Eric L. Hunter, 46, had a warrant for violation of bail bond, and was arrested at 5:50 a.m. July 5, in the 300 block of E. Central Road. Bond was set at $3,000.
  • James M. Krook, 54, had two warrants for violation of bail bond, and was arrested at 3:32 p.m. July 3, at Aldi Foods, 500 block of E. Golf Road. Bond was set at $11,500.

  • Matthew Isaac Dugo, 22, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08, leaving the scene of an accident, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 8:07 p.m. July 4, in the 1300 block of W. Plymouth Court. Bond was set at $1,000 and a court date of July 22 was assigned.
  • Juan Flores-Segura, 26, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding 26-34 mph over the speed limit, operating a motor vehicle with no license, illegal transportation of alcohol by a driver, and was arrested at 5:23 a.m. July 2, at the Speedway station, 1900 block of N. Arlington Heights Road. Bond was set at $3,000 and a court date of Aug. 17 was assigned.
  • Carlos D. Kurtjian, 43, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving 21-25 mph over the speed limit, and was arrested at 2:03 a.m. July 2, at E. Palatine and E. Rand roads. Bond was set at $3,000 and a court date of July 29 was assigned.

DOMESTIC BATTERY

  • Stephen J. Frank, 31, is accused of domestic battery, and was arrested at 6:15 a.m. July 7, in the 500 block of W. Ridge Court. Bond was set at $10,000 and a court date of July 29 was assigned.
  • Christian Juarez Pacheco, 27, is accused of domestic battery, and was arrested at 10:53 a.m. July 7, in the 1100 block of E. Algonquin Road. Bond was set at $10,000 and a court date of July 29 was assigned.

RESISTING A PEACE OFFICER

  • Sergio Gonzalez, 45, is accused of resisting a peace officer, driving under the influence of alcohol, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, illegal transportation of alcohol by a driver, and was arrested at 4:11 a.m. July 3, at W. Rand Road and N. Chestnut Avenue. Bond was set at $1,000 and a court date of July 29 was assigned.
  • Maria Eva Olszewski, 19, is accused of resisiting a peace officer, and was arrested at 11:10 p.m. July 1, at E. Kenninsgton Road and S. Douglas Avenue. Bond was set at $100 and a court date of July 29 was assigned.

BATTERY

  • Karen A. Kline, 52, is accused of battery, and was arrested at 6:29 p.m. July 2, in the 300 block of E. Knob Hill Drive. Bond was set $15,000 and a court date of July 27 was assigned.
  • Marlon Rockwood, 31, is accused of battery, and was arrested at 11:43 p.m. July 1, at Red Roof Inn, 0-30 block of West Algonquin Road. Bond was set at $100 and a court date of July 29 was assigned.

ASSAULT

Roberto Montalvo, 42, is accused of aggravated assault, and was arrested at 1:20 a.m. July 4, in the 2100 block of S. Goebbert Road. Bond was set at $100 and a court date of July 22 was assigned.

ENDANGERING THE LIFE OF A CHILD

Kyle Poklen, 35, is accused of endangering the life of a child, resisting a peace officer, and was arrested at 12:12 a.m. July 3, at Recreation Park, 500 block of E. Miner Road. Bond was set at $100 and a court date of July 22 was assigned.

INCIDENTS

THEFT

A resident in the 600 block of S. Kaspar Avenue reported that between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. June 20, someone stole a purple Reid bicycle, valued at approximately $400, from the front lawn.

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS OR ACCESSORIES

  • A person called police at 12:39 a.m. June 21, to report that when he was walking his dog in the 1100 block of N. Dale Avenue, he saw two subjects cutting the catalytic converter off a Honda in the parking lot. When the victim yelled at the subjects, one of them displayed a handgun. The subjects are described as males, wearing all black clothing and ski masks. One subject was about 6-foot-2 weighing approximately 225 pounds. The other is described as 6-foot, weighing approximately 185 pounds. They fled south on Dale in a black Jeep SRT with a loud exhaust.
  • A resident in the 2100 block of S. Goebbert Road reported that during the overnight hours of June 22, someone stole the catalytic converter off his 2011 Prius. The value to replace the catalytic converter is unknown.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

  • A person reported that during the overnight hours of June 21, someone entered his unlocked Nissan and stole his wallet, containing approximately $500 in cash, in the 800 block of E. Shady Way.
  • A person called police to report that between June 18 and June 22, someone broke into his work truck and stole his tools, valued at around $3,000, in the 300 block of W. Rand Road.
  • A resident in the 2100 block of S. Arlington Heights Road reported that during the overnight hours of July 1, someone shattered the driver’s side window of her 2017 Subaru and stole her purse. The purse contained $200, ID cards, debit card, and Bose speaker and headphones.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

  • A person reported at 8:45 p.m. June 22, a group of juveniles broke the door of the portable toilet in the 1800 block of N. Dale Avenue. The cost to repair the damage is unknown.
  • A resident in the 600 block of S. Princeton Avenue called police at 11:58 p.m. June 23, to report someone ran up to the front yard and pushed over two garbage cans, three (unplanted) plants/bushes located near the garage, and two large flower pots located on the front porch. The damage done has an approximate value of $200. The subject is described as a male in his early 20s, shoulder-length hair, shirtless, wearing dark-colored shorts and gray tennis shoes.
  • An employee in the 600 block of N. Ridge Avenue reported that during the overnight hours of June 26, someone lit a garbage can near the park on fire. The cost to replace the garbage can is estimated around $150.
  • A resident in the 200 block of N. Pine Avenue called police at 11:15 p.m. July 3, to report seeing a group of about four to five males walking westbound past his house, when he heard a loud noise. The subjects then ran westbound on Eastman St. and got into an unknown vehicle. The homeowner then found his window on the side of his house broken, and a rock inside the house.

VANDALISM

  • An employee called police to report that between 3 p.m. June 22 and 11:30 a.m. June 23, someone spray-painted graffiti on the playground equipment in the 4100 block of Schaeffer Road. The graffiti was drawn with black, blue, green, and red spray paint. The graffiti consisted of the number 2 followed by the word “Mando.” The cost to clean the graffiti is unknown.
  • An employee in the 3900 block of Ventura Drive reported that during the overnight hours of June 27, someone had spray-painted multicolored graffiti on the ComEd utility box. The spray paint was dried and illegible. The cost to remove it is unknown.
  • A person called police at 7:45 p.m. July 1, to report finding graffiti on the playground equipment in the 2200 block of N. Verde Drive. Officers located illegible designs or words on one of the red slides, one of the park benches and underneath the playground structure. The graffiti was done in pink and black color marker/paint.
  • A person in the 400 block of S. Highland Avenue reported at 1:30 a.m. July 3, seeing the letters "SLXM" in block letters and an arrow-like design spray painted in black across the school sign.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS TO PROPERTY

An employee in the 0-40 block of N. Beverly Lane called police at 9:20 a.m. June 26, to report he was performing work on the residence when someone entered the property without permission. The subject was described as a male approximately 60 years old, with gray hair, wearing a white t-shirt and black shorts. The employee told the subject to leave, to which he responded with some vulgar language.

SUSPICIOUS NOISE

A resident in the 1500 block of Richmond Street reported at 8:35 p.m. June 29, hearing five or six gunshots in the area. Officers responded and determined it was fireworks being set off.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON

  • A resident in the 2200 block of S. Crambourne Way called police to report at 11:25 a.m. June 30, seeing a male wearing a black mask, black tank top, black shorts and red Nike Air shoes walking around the subdivision appearing to check the porches.
  • A resident in the 2100 block of S. Arlington Heights Road reported at 9 p.m. July 3, someone was looking into cars with a flashlight. The subject was described as a tall, thin male wearing a tan backpack. Officers checked the area and were unable to locate the subject or any vehicles that were broken into.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

A homeowner in the 0-100 block of N. Beverly Avenue called police at 3:30 a.m. July 1, to report a motion alert on his security camera. A review of the camera showed a male and female, about twenty years of age, exit the home. The male was wearing a white t-shirt, red baggy pants and a black knit hat with the word “Army” on it. The female was wearing a long sleeve white shirt, red baggy pants and a black New York Yankees hat. Stolen was a pair of Yeezy shoes, iPad, leather Disney backpack and $100.

HOME INVASION

A resident in the 1500 block of W. Roanoke Drive reported at 3:40 p.m. July 3, he had agreed to sell his PlayStation 5 to someone he spoke to on Facebook Marketplace. Three people arrived at the victim’s house. While speaking to the victim, one person entered the residence, grabbed the PlayStation out of the victim’s hand and fled on foot. The victim gave chase, but was confronted by another person in the car, who pointed a gun at the victim. The subjects fled in a grey Hyundai.

The subjects are described as:

  • No. 1 - male, approximately 5-foot-5, thin build, with short black dreadlocks, wearing a red/white hat, a long-sleeved orange shirt, green shorts and grey shoes.
  • No. 2 - male, approximately 5-foot-5, thin build with short black hair, wearing a blue long-sleeved shirt with a white stripe, red pants and red/white shoes.
  • No. 3 - male, approximately 5-foot-5, thin build with medium length black dreadlocks, wearing a black shirt and black pants.
