Dr. Scott Rowe currently serves in the same role in Huntley Community School District 158.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Township High School District 214 has its next leader. The board of education announced at a Thursday night meeting the selection of Dr. Scott Rowe, who currently serves in the same role in Huntley Community School District 158. His first day on the job is slated for July 1, according to the district.
"I am deeply honored by the Board’s belief and confidence in me and by the opportunity to serve a district with such a well-established record of creating innovative learning experiences," Rowe said. "I am eager to get started – to get to know and partner with District 214’educators, parents, students and all the stakeholders who contribute to its success."
Since 2018, Rowe has led District 158, a unit district serving more than 9,000 students PreK-12 from Algonquin, Lake in the Hills and Huntley. At Huntley High School, where he served as principal for five years, he oversaw the growth of the school’s pioneering Blended Learning Program from a small pilot into an integral part of life at the school. In 2019, HHS was named by study.com as the country’s No. 1 high school for blended learning.

Rowe succeeds Dr. David Schuler, who, after 18 years as superintendent, left District 214 in
February for a new role as executive director of the American Association of School
Administrators. In January, the school board appointed Dr. Kenneth Arndt and Dr. Lazaro Lopez as co-interim superintendents to lead the District during the transition. They will continue serving in that role through June 30.
