Schaumburg Dad's Father's Day Lottery Purchase Makes Him $700K Richer
Michael Ko used his family's birthday numbers for his winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket.

SCHAUMBURG, IL — A Schaumburg dad decided to press his luck on Father's Day, and it paid off to the tune of $700,000.
“I was having such a great Father’s Day, I thought I should buy a lottery ticket using family birthdays as my numbers, and I won!” Michael Ko told the Illinois Lottery after recently discovering his five Lucky Day Lotto numbers matched.
Ko bought a $1 ticket June 19, and those birthday numbers—01, 04, 05, 14, 44—proved to be very lucky for him. Ko's winning ticket earned him $700,000.

"I was shocked to see that the winning numbers matched the numbers on my ticket!" he said.
And what does Ko plan to do with this windfall? Pay off bills, invest some of it, and take a vacation, he said.

Ko's Father's Day luck also is paying off for the place where he bought the winning ducat. The owner of Mobil, 9660 Golf Road, will take home $7,000 bonus for selling the Lucky Day Lotto ticket.
