Schiller Park Family Seeks Answers in Fatal Hit-and-Run
Downtown Attorney Robert Fakhouri organizes campaign to bring answers, justice for Kevin Ballog, 46, who died Monday morning.
Downtown Chicago attorney Robert Fakhouri has taken up the crusade for a Schiller Park family desperate for answers as to why their loved one is a hit-and-run victim fighting for his life.
Kevin Ballog, 46, died Monday morning after fighting for his life in intensive, critical care at Loyola University Medical Center following a collision around 8 p.m. on September 23, 2020 on west Belmont Avenue between River Road and Cumberland Avenue, after exiting a CTA bus and attempting to walk to his mother’s home.
Since taking the family’s case, Fakhouri’s firm has intensified the efforts to help Ballog’s daughter, who is pleading for leads as to who struck her father with a vehicle and fled the scene.

Fakhouri announced last week a $5,000 reward for information leading to a conviction.
The side mirror was found on the scene and, according to witness accounts, the vehicle may be black or dark blue color.

Ballog, who sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of severe head trauma, is thought to have been clipped by the mirror.
“Someone out there knows something and it will only be worse if the driver is found before they have the good sense to turn themselves in,” said Fakhouri.
A paramedic not on duty - but at the scene minutes after the incident - believed Ballog was in the middle of the street when he was hit, and was left for dead in the middle of the traffic. The paramedic stayed at the scene, cradled his head in her arms until Ballog was transported to critical care by ambulance.
Police are currently investigating this matter.
According to Fakhouri, the media has been helpful in prompting the firm’s awareness campaign, but television coverage has not generated “any real leads” for the family.
Fakhouri implores anyone with real information to contact his offices at 312/999.9990.
