Seniors in All Seasons September 26 at River Trail Nature Center in Northbrook

The Wildbird Shack in partnership with River Trail Nature Center in Northbrook hosted our first Seniors in all Seasons on June 27, 2017. The event was an opportunity for guests to become one with nature. Various display stations were scattered throughout the Nature Center, both inside and out. Guests had the opportunity to have hands on experiences touching hawk wings, feathers and nests.

Bird watching was also a huge draw lead by the Wildbird Shack team. An easy, handicap-friendly trail walk lead to the enclosures of a barn owl, bald eagle, coyotes and other animals that are rehabbing and, unfortunately, cannot be released back into the wild for their own safety.

Senior living and memory care communities in the area attended this festive event. Birding is regarded for its positive cognitive impact, encouraging enjoyment of nature and the outdoors, promotion of socialization with other nature lovers.

The Wildbird Shack is pleased to offer this event once again in the fall on Tuesday, September 26 from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm due to its enormous success. So mark your calendars now for an experience to remember!
