Teachers, District 25 Agree to New 4-Year Contract

The school board for the Arlington Heights district approved the agreement last week.

Arlington Heights, IL—Teachers and the Arlington Heights School District 25 agreed to a new four-year contract last week, the Daily Herald reports.

The contract, which took several months to negotiate and was unanimously approved by the school board Thursday, June 16, creates a new salary schedule that gives teachers an average annual pay increase of about 3 percent for the years covered by the agreement, the report stated. Teachers above the new pay schedule will earn a 1 percent longevity bump, the report added.

Officials told the Herald that they estimate the new contract will cost the district about 2 percent to 2.5 percent more annually.
