Trio of Arlington Heights Cops Assaulted by Drunken Des Plaines Man: Police
The officers found the man sleeping on the sidewalk with his head in some bushes.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Three police officers were assaulted by a Des Plaines man who was allegedly drunk when the officers found him asleep in some bushes, according to the Daily Herald.
Robert A. Robinson, 27, was charged with three counts of aggravated assault, as well as single counts of simple battery and resisting arrest. He was released on $150 bail, the report stated.
Police came across Robinson after responding to a well-being check at about 11:45 p.m. Oct. 15 near Arlington Heights and Central roads, the Herald reports. The man was sprawled on the sidewalk, his head in the bushes, the report added.

When Robinson awoke, he became "very aggressive" with the officers, the report stated. Robinson went into a "boxer's stance" once paramedics arrived an began raising his fists at police, the report added.
The officers eventually were able to arrest Robinson without using their weapons, the report stated. He was then taken to Northwest Community Hospital because of his high level of intoxication, the report added.
