Veterans Day Car Parade Planned In Arlington Heights

Those interested in driving in the parade need to contact organizers.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The public is invited to both watch and participate in the annual Veterans Day Car Parade in Arlington Heights next week. The parade is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11. Participating cars will line up at 9:30 a.m.

Organizers say the parade is centered around 800 W Oakton St. Veterans are invited to drive in the parade or to line up along the parade route at Ridge Avenue, facing south. Participating veterans should be lined up no later than 9:30 a.m.

A "Parade Car" will lead the parade past a reviewing stand (on Village Drive) and past veterans at Luther Village, according to Greg Padovani, chairman of the Veterans Memorial Committee of Arlington Heights.

The Parade Car will lead the parade through the center of the complex and around the perimeter to the final point — where each car will receive a gift bag in thanks for their participation.
