Video With Gunfire Sounds No Threat To Arlington Heights Middle School: Cops

The online footage was created by a home-schooled autistic juvenile who was charged with disorderly conduct.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Police determined Wednesday that a home-schooled autistic boy who posted a video online that referred to South Middle School amid the sounds of gunfire didn't pose a threat to the school or students, the Daily Herald reports.

Police investigated the minute-long video after some middle school parents expressed concern over it, the report stated. Using a green screen at Arlington Heights Memorial Library, the video featured student news announcements from South Middle School and the sound of gunshots, according to the report. Footage from other films and anime also wre used throughout the video, the report added.

Although police determined that the video and the juvenile didn't present a danger, the boy was charged with disorderly conduct Wednesday, March 22, after he was interviewed by officers, the report stated. Police also patroled the school as a precaution.
