Be sure to change the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors when setting your clocks behind ending daylight saving time. This year the official time is during the night of Saturday, October 31.
The National Fire Protection Association reminds us that when there is a fire, smoke spreads fast.

Working smoke alarms give you early warning so you can get outside quickly.
If you are a resident who does not have the ability to change the batteries, or if you are in need of a new smoke detector but unable to purchase one, you may call the Fire Department at 847-368-5450 for assistance.
We want to keep our residents safe, so remember, “Change Your Clock, Change Your Batteries too!”
