Weed Opt-In Poll: Majority Of Arlington Heights Readers On Board

According to estimates, cannabis consumers have spent well over $300 million in the first six months since legalization in Illinois.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — According to a recent Patch poll, a majority of participants would like to see their municipalities opt-in on recreational cannanbis sales or allow more shops if they're already allowed. Out of 1,686 poll-takers, 68 percent are on board for the opt-in option.

The poll included Patch readers from Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Deerfield, Evanston, Glenview, Highland Park, Lake Forest-Lake Bluff, Niles-Morton Grove, Northbrook, Skokie, Wilmette-Kenilworth and Winnetka-Glencoe.

In other poll results, 76 percent felt the state made the right choice in legalizing cannabis in January. A majority 53 percent feel that things have gone about as they expected six months after legalization.
