Woman Found Strangled In Schaumburg Apartment

She was found dead after missing church on Easter Sunday.

SCHAUMBURG, IL -- A 33-year-old woman was found strangled in her Schaumburg apartment after police conducted a well-being check on Sunday. Tiffany Thrasher was found dead in her apartment in the 2600 block of Clipper Drive after missing church on Easter, police said. She was reportedly last seen by friends Saturday night at dinner.

Police forced their way into the apartment after being asked to conduct a well-being check, and said Thrasher is believed to have been killed between 8 p.m. Saturday and 11:45 a.m. Sunday. Police told ABC 7 that it was unusual for Thrasher to miss church.

"She was planning on being there," Sgt. Christy Lindhurst said. Thrasher's last public Facebook posts were on Good Friday, and her bio states, "Jesus has my heart."

Thrasher reportedly lived with a female roommate who was out of town for Easter weekend, WGN reported.

Police told ABC 7 they did not have information on how the killer got in or out of the apartment. An autopsy determined Thrasher's cause of death was strangulation.
