Woman Stabbed by Relative With Dull Knife as She Drives 2 Kids: Cops

The 33-year-old Arlington Heights man also threatened to kill her as she was driving east on Arlington Heights Road.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — A 33-year-old man is accused of stabbing a relative repeatedly with a dull knife while she was driving a vehicle carrying her alleged attacker and two children, the Daily Herald reports.

Dinko Kralchev, 33, of the 600 block of East Falcon Drive, Arlington Heights, was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, domestic battery and child endangerment stemming from the incident, the report stated.

According to police, Kralchev was driving with the woman and two children — ages 7 and 10 — at around 6 p.m. Nov. 15 when he allegedly stopped the vehicle and attacked his relative, the Herald reports. The woman got out of the vehicle, but she eventually got back in behind the wheel and drove east on Arlington Heights Road, the report added.

Even though the woman was driving, Kralchev allegedly threatened to kill her and attacked her again, using a dull knife this time, the report stated. The attack forced the woman to briefly lose control of the vehicle, the report added.

The woman reported the attack to Arlington Heights police that day, and Kralchev was arrested that evening, the Herald reports.
