1 Man Dead In New York Street Shooting Sunday Night: Aurora PD

Police found the 24-year-old suffering from gunshot wounds in a car just before 10 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of West New York Street.

AURORA, IL — One man, 24, was fatally shot Sunday night in the 400 block of West New York Street, Aurora police said in an update Monday morning.

The man's identification was not released, pending notification of his next of kin. The shooting is being treated as a homicide investigation, which remains active.

Police responded to the scene of the shooting just before 10 p.m. Sunday when they found the man suffering from gunshot wounds in a car. Paramedics brought him to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, officials said.
