Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the armed robberies to come forward.

AURORA, IL --- Aurora Police are reaching out to the public in the hopes of finding witnesses to two armed robberies that took place within less than two days of each other. Police say the first armed robbery took place inside an office in the 1200 block of New York Street on Nov. 3 and the second took place in a parking lot near the intersection of New York and River Streets on Nov. 4.

In the first incident, police say a man came into an office around 12:45 p.m. and robbed two men at gunpoint, stealing their cellphones and "a significant amount of cash." The following day around 11:30 p.m., a 24-year old man had his cellphone and cash stolen at gunpoint in a parking lot close to Hollywood Casino.

The victim told police that the suspect demanded cash and then fired a shot before getting into a smaller black sedan and heading west on Lake Street. Just before 4 a.m. on Nov. 5, two victims told police that their cars had been damaged by the gunfire.
