2 Hurt After Car Hits Pole, Brings Down Live Wires In Aurora

Police are investigating the cause of the single-car crash.

AURORA, IL — Two people were injured Friday morning after the car they were in crashed into an electric pole in Aurora. The crash brought down the electric pole and live wires near the intersection of Eastern and New York, according to a post from Aurora police.

The pair was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

ComEd has been called to the scene of the crash, police said. According to ComEd's website, more than 60 people were without power due to the crash. Power is estimated to be restored around 3:45 p.m.
