24 Citations Issued In APD's Enforcement Campaign Monday

Police also made six arrests related to speeding, cannabis and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

AURORA, IL — Aurora police officers issued 24 tickets Monday during a special traffic detail, officials announced Wednesday.

During the enforcement, police conducted a total of 35 traffic stops, which resulted in 24 citations and seven warnings. Police also made six arrests related to speeding, cannabis, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and driving while license suspended.

Although police were unable to provide exact numbers at the time of publication, department spokesperson Karl Holappa told Patch the majority were for speeding.

The purpose of Monday's traffic detail was to keep "a close eye out for drivers making poor decisions on the roads in our community," police said in a news release.
