'An Appropriate Sentence': 30 Years For Aurora Man's Sexual Assault, Battery Conviction
He sexually assaulted a victim unable to consent before battering a pregnant woman who walked in and witnessed the assault, officials said.

AURORA, IL — An Aurora man was sentenced to 30 years in prison after he was found guilty of sexual assault and aggravated battery, prosecutors said.
Francisco Manriquez, 53, originally faced a minimum of 12 years in prison for the crimes, Patch reported. He was convicted of two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault, four counts of criminal sexual assault and one count of aggravated battery.
On Feb. 5, 2020, the man sexually assaulted a victim, who was unable to consent, before he then battered a seven-months-pregnant woman who walked in and witnessed the assault, Patch reported.

"Mr. Manriquez's criminal actions were a selfish betrayal of the trust the victims believed they could place in him," Assistant State's Attorney Amanda Busljeta said in a statement. "He clearly knew what he was doing was wrong, but that did not stop him. This is an appropriate sentence."

Manriquez is required to serve 85 percent of his sentence in accordance with Illinois law. He received credit for the 1,152 days served in the Kane County jail.
On top of the prison term, the man is required to register for life as a sex offender.
