Aurora Man Who Sexually Assaulted 1, Battered Another Found Guilty: SA

The​ 53-year-old sexually assaulted a victim before he then battered a seven-months-pregnant​ woman who walked in and witnessed the assault.

AURORA, IL — An Aurora faces a prison sentence between 12 and 50 years now that he has been found guilty of three felony charges, according to officials at the Kane County State's Attorney's Office.

Francisco L. Manriquez, of the 700 block of Sullivan Road, was convicted of two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault, four counts of criminal sexual assault and one count of aggravated battery.

The charges stem from an incident on Feb. 5, 2020. The 53-year-old man sexually assaulted a victim, who officials said was unable to consent, before he then battered a seven-months-pregnant woman who walked into the room and witnessed the assault.

"This defendant's actions were the ultimate betrayal of trust," Assistant State's Attorney Amanda Busljeta said in a statement. "Not once did he think of the trauma he was forcing on both victims. These victims, by contrast, showed amazing courage by confronting this defendant. Justice has been served in this case."

Manriquez's next court date for motions and sentencing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. March 31. He remains in custody at the Kane County jail where he has been held in lieu of $1 million bail since his arrest. Judge David Kliment revoked the man's bond upon conviction.

In addition to his prison term, he is required to register for life as a sex offender in accordance with the Illinois Sex Offender Registration Act.
