Alleged 7-Eleven Robber Nabbed After Police Stop Vehicle

The 23-year-old Aurora man was found with clothing worn during the robbery.

A 23-year-old Aurora man believed to be the perpetrator in a Jan. 24 robbery of a 7-Eleven gas station convenience store was arrested Wednesday afternoon, according to a release from the Aurora Police Department.

Nikko Tooley, of the 1000 block of N. Farnsworth Avenue, was arrested after a Batavia police officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Tooley. The officer recalled the description of the suspect vehicle from the 7-Eleven robbery and immediately notified the Aurora Police Department.

An Aurora Police Detective responded to the traffic stop and located evidence consistent with items worn by Tooley during the robbery. Tooley was arrested and taken to the Aurora Police Department without incident.

Tooley has been charged with aggravated robbery by the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office and his bail was set at $150,000.

The robbery occurred in the 600 block of S. Frontenac around 6:45 a.m. on Jan. 24 when Tooley is believed to have entered the store producing a replica handgun and demanding money from the store’s clerk. The clerk surrendered an undisclosed amount of cash and Tooley allegedly left the store on foot. The clerk was not injured during the robbery.

Video surveillance cameras in the area captured Tooley allegedly fleeing the area in the suspect vehicle.
