Alleged Restaurant Burglar Suspected of Several More

Police are also searching for the identity of an accomplice.

AURORA, IL — A 44-year-old Aurora man has been arrested in connection with a Feb. 13 break-in at a West side restaurant.

Christopher M. Sullivan, of the 1300 block of Hinckley Street, along with a man who has not yet been identified, allegedly entered La Cabana restaurant, located in the 800 block of South River, at around 10:10 p.m. Feb. 13 by smashing through the glass front door of the restaurant. The men allegedly stole liquor, cash and electronics worth about $1,145, according to a release from the Aurora Police Department.

Police also suspect Sullivan in a string of burglaries that occurred at businesses inside and outside of Aurora. Charges in connection to some of those crimes may be filed in the coming weeks, police said.

Police officers came across Sullivan on Feb. 18 on an unrelated call in the 600 block of Wilder Street. During a conversation with a patrol officer, he allegedly made statements about several business burglaries in the city, according to the release. Police interviewed him, launched a full-scale investigation, secured the charges in the La Cabana incident and established him as a suspect in the other cases. Police are continuing to work leads in their attempt to identify other possible accomplices, according to the release.

The second suspect in the La Cabana burglary was described as a white male, 5’8”, 170 pounds, wearing a light gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, gloves, and a striped baseball cap.

Sullivan’s bail has been set at $125,000. He is currently lodged in the Kane County Correctional Facility.
