Artists Sought For Aurora Festival Of Lighted Art Installations, Music

The inaugural Lumenaura will take place in October, lighting up Aurora's downtown riverfront with weekend-only installations and music.

AURORA, IL — Aurora's Public Art Division is seeking proposals from artists for an outdoor festival of lighted art installations and music.

In its inaugural year, Lumenaura will take place from Oct. 11-13, lighting up Aurora's downtown riverfront with weekend-only installations, activities, multiple stages and roving performers. A few internationally traveling artworks will be on extended display throughout October, officials said.

The theme of Lumenaura will be "portals," meaning portals to the past, future, across space or parallel universes may be included in creative literature or conceptual interpretations.
