Aurora Bank Robber Implied He Had Gun: FBI

The FBI said the man walked into the bank wearing a wig, face mask and hat, and demanded money just after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

AURORA, IL — Associated Bank on Aurora's west side was robbed Wednesday evening, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The suspect walked into the bank, inside Jewel-Osco at 1952 W. Galena Boulevard, and demanded money from the teller while implying he carried a gun, officials said. The FBI did not say how much cash was stolen.

FBI agents arrived at the scene at about 5:34 p.m. after receiving a call from the Aurora Police Department, which responded first. By then, the suspect had fled on foot, officials said.

The FBI described the suspect as an approximately 30-year-old Black man with a thin to medium build. He wore a blue T-shirt over a white long-sleeve shirt, a white baseball hat with bull insignia, glasses, a surgical mask and a shoulder-length wig.

Anyone with information is asked to report tips, anonymously as well, to the FBI at 312-421-6700.
