Aurora Cops Arrest Man With Body Armor, Gun: Report

AURORA, IL — An Aurora man faces multiple felony charges after police found him wearing body armor and carrying a handgun during a traffic stop Thursday. Eric Liddell, 44, of the 900 block of Lebanon Street, was pulled over for driving without a rear license plate just after 2:30 a.m. Thursday, according to Daily Herald.

Police say they spotted a .40-caliber handgun in a holster next to Liddell once they pulled him over. Liddell, a convicted felon, is also accused of possessing the gun without a Firearm Owner's Identification Card.

Liddell, whom police say initially gave a false name, is also accused of wearing Kevlar body armorunder his clothes.

He has been charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, obstructing identification, possession of a firearm by a felon, and possessing body armor.

Liddell is currently being held on $250,000 bail. He is set to appear in court again on Nov. 21.
