AURORA, IL -- A North Aurora man is back in jail after police say he tossed a pistol he had on him while trying to flee cops on foot Tuesday. Andre Norman, of the 100 block of Lincolnway, began running after he was approached by a group of Special Operations police officers for an outstanding warrant, according to a news release.

Police say that Norman, who was on parole for a previous felony conviction, took a black Diamondback 9 mm handgun out of his waistband and threw it on the ground during the foot chase. The officers were able to apprehend Norman and took him into custody without any additional incidents.
