Aurora Cops Catch 12-Year-Old, Teens In Stolen Car
The van was stolen on Dec. 21 after it was left running and unattended.

AURORA, IL --- A 12-year-old boy and two 16-year-old boys are facing charges of possessing a stolen motor vehicle after they were reportedly caught in a van that had been reported stolen Saturday in Aurora. Police say the incident took place around 4:44 p.m. at the dead end of Flagg Street.
A resident called police to report a suspicious vehicle and police say the three boys ran from the van when they got to the scene. A brief foot chase ensued and police were able to take all three suspects into custody.
Police traced the van and found out it had been stolen from the 500 block of E. Downer Place on Dec. 21 when it had been left running and unattended.

After the incident, both 16-year-olds were taken to a youth home and the 12-year-old was returned to his parent, police say.
