Aurora Cops Seize Heroin, Cash In Drug Bust

AURORA, IL --- A 60-year-old man was arrested earlier this month on drug charges after Aurora police used K-9 officers to search an apartment home. Robert E. Merriweather faces charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. in connection with the incident.

Police say they executed a search warrant for Merriweather's residence in the 400 block of Garfield Ave. on Dec. 12. While there, police uncovered 13 grams of heroin and more than $4,000 cash. They also allegedly found drug paraphernalia.

Merriweather was taken into custody and held at Kane County Jail on $100,000 bond.
