AURORA, IL — Heavy snowfall Wednesday morning has caused Groot, Aurora's refuse collector, to suspend pickup for the remainder of Wednesday, city officials announced.

In an alert, officials said any uncollected trash will be picked up Thursday. Cans can be left out until then, but officials are asking residents to clear them of snow so they're visible in the morning.

Collections will also be postponed by one day for the remainder of the week, so residents whose garbage is usually collected Friday can expect it taken Saturday.
