Aurora Girl, 16, Stole iWatches, iPhones: Police
Police say she stole 3 Apple watches and 2 iPhones.

AURORA, IL --- A 16-year-old Aurora girl faces multiple charges after she allegedly used set up meetings to buy Apple watches and iPhones that she then stole the items from sellers. Police say the thefts started in mid-September and ended in early November before the girl was taken into custody.
The first alleged theft took place in the 400 block of Avon St., according to police. The girl is accused of meeting with two men to by a $350 Apple watch and then stealing the watch by jumping over a fence.
On Oct. 7 and 8, the teen allegedly stole two more Apple watches from sellers, one in the 200 block of S. Lincoln Ave. and another in the 300 block of Avon St. In both cases, police say she fled on foot while looking at the watches.

The girl is also accused of stealing an iPhone from a seller from Naperville in the 1200 block of Monomoy on Oct. 28. She allegedly fled with the phone after telling the victim she needed to show it to her grandmother.
On Nov. 2, an iPhone was stolen from an Oswego man in a similar incident near Gladstone and Victory, according to police.

In the wake of these thefts, police are reminding residents to meet at the Aurora Police Department when transacting business via social media.
