AURORA, IL—An Aurora man is facing multiple felony charges after police say he repeatedly rammed his estranged wife's car while she was in it. Carlos Abrego, 44, has now been charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery on a public way, criminal damage to property and domestic battery with making physical contact, according Kane County court records.

The charges stem from a Jan. 7 incident where police responded to a domestic disturbance call. A spokesperson for the Aurora Police Department told The Daily Herald that Abrego followed and chased his estranged wife near North Elmwood in his SUV. In the process, police said he was able to ram the back of her car several times.
Police told the newspaper that officers drove the victim, who was not injured, back to her home, and found Abrego's SUV in the driveway with front-end damage. He was arrested on scene.
