Aurora Man Charged With Robbing Dollar General, Injuring Employee

Police say he fled the scene, took his girlfriend's car without permission, and then got into a single-car crash.

AURORA, IL -- An Aurora man has with forcibly robbing a Dollar General store and injuring an employee in the process Monday night. Police say Jason L. Jackson, 32, was taken into custody later that night after he took his girlfriend's car without her permission and got into a single-vehicle crash in Sugar Grove.

Jackson is accused of fighting an employee off while attempting to flee the scene of the Dollar General robbery, which took place at 380 W. Galena Blvd. He then reportedly went to his girlfriend's house in Waterman and was involved in a domestic disturbance, police say.

Police say Jackson left the scene with his girlfriend's car and was driving in Sugar Grove when he crashed it. Sugar Grove Police responded to the crash and took Jackson into custody, which led to the charges being filed by Aurora police.

Jackson is currently being held at Kane County Jail.

According to police, the employee who was hurt during the robbery was treated for minor injuries and released.
