Aurora Man Gets 15 Years For Sexually Assaulting Child He Knew: Mosser
The 38-year-old man pled guilty to predatory criminal sexual assault of a child in exchange for the prison term.

AURORA, IL — A 38-year-old Aurora man was sentenced to 15 years in prison after sexually abusing a child younger than 12, Kane County State's Attorney's Office officials said.
Jose A. Jimenez, of Margarets Lane, exchanged a guilty plea to the offense of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child in exchange for the prison term.
Jimenez sexually assaulted the child, whom he knew, between January and March 2022, according to information Assistant State's Attorney Stacey Wittman presented in court.

The child disclosed the abuse to a school social worker who "swiftly" contacted authorities, officials said.
"My thanks to the social worker and the victim’s family members who supported her throughout this ordeal," Wittman said in a statement. "I'm grateful to the victim for her courage throughout this prosecution and for trusting us to ensure she gets justice."

Jimenez is required to serve at least 85 percent of his sentence. He receives credit for the 394 days spent in the Kane County jail.
In addition to his prison term, the Aurora man must also register for life as a sexual offender in accordance with the Illinois Sexual Offender Registration Act.
