Aurora Man Killed In Far West Side Shooting: Police

Police found the 36-year-old suffering from gunshot wounds inside a house in the 2300 block of Candleberry Lane.

AURORA, IL — A 36-year-old man was killed in a Far West Side shooting just after midnight Monday, police said in an update Wednesday.

After receiving multiple 911 calls about the shooting, police responded at 12:16 a.m. to the 2300 block of Candleberry Lane where they found Isaiah Ayala, an Aurora resident, suffering from gunshot wounds inside a residence.

Paramedics brought Ayala to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead a short while later, officials said.

The case is being investigated as a homicide, according to detectives. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Aurora Police Department's Investigations Division at 630-256-5500.

Tips can also be anonymously submitted to Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000. The group offers cash rewards of up to $5,000 to people who provide information leading to the arrest of a felony crime or the capture of felony fugitives.
