Aurora Man Tries To Run Over Girlfriend's Mom With Minivan: Cops

Police say Jordi Nieto, 20, had been arguing with his girlfriend when the incident took place.

AURORA, IL — An Aurora man who is accused of trying to run over his girlfriend's mom with a mini-van has bee charged with attempted murder. Police say Jordi Nieto, 20, of the 1700 block of Richard Avenue, hit the 42-year-old woman with a minivan and left her lying in the front yard of her home in the 100 block of N. Fourth Street.

According to police, Nieto and his girlfriend had been involved in an ongoing argument that had included reported domestic abuse. After Nieto's girlfriend left work Tuesday, she told police that he followed her to her house.

Once there, Nieto was confronted by his girlfriend's mother, police say, which led Nieto to drive his minivan into her.

Police say the victim's family detained Nieto, who was taken to Kane County Jail, where he is currently being held on $1 million bond.
