Aurora Officers Honored For Saving Suicidal Man
One officer reportedly grabbed the man as he was about to jump from the rooftop.

AURORA, IL --- Three Aurora police officers have been recognized for their help in saving the life of a suicidal man who was about to jump off a roof on the city's Near East side. Irene Carollo, Aaron Spooner, and Wes Boyer each share the police department's Employee of the Month distinction for November.
According to Aurora PD, the man's family contacted police because they were concerned for his well-being. While officers were responding to the call, they spotted the man on the rooftop of a three-story home.
Police say Officer Carollo began talking to the man to distract him while Officers Boyer and Spooner contacted Aurora Fire Department to deploy a ladder truck. Once the truck got to the scene, Boyer used the ladder to get to the roof and approach the man.
