Aurora Opens Overnight Temporary Warming Center As Temperature Drops
The Aurora Transportation Center transforms into a temporary overnight warming center based on temperature thresholds.

AURORA, IL — As temperatures are forecasted to drop and a blizzard is expected this week, city officials are opening Aurora's overnight temporary warming center Tuesday night.
The Aurora Transportation, at the central location of 233 N. Broadway, will open each night from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. until the morning of Dec. 27. Staff and security guards will be on-site at all times, officials said.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for several parts of Illinois, including Chicago and surrounding areas, as a major storm is expected to approach before Christmas. Blizzard conditions with gusts up to 55 mph and bitterly cold wind chills could come with the storm, Patch reported.
