Aurora Overnight Warming Center Will Reopen Nightly For 1 Week
The warming center, located at the Aurora Transportation Center, will open nightly starting Sunday.

AURORA, IL — With frigid temperatures in the teens expected next week in Aurora, city officials announced they will reopen the emergency warming center.
The Overnight Warming Center, located at the Aurora Transportation Center at 233 N. Broadway, will be open from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. each night starting Sunday through Feb. 5.
The facility also has accessible bathrooms, hand sanitizing stations and vending machines. Staff or security guards will be on-site at all times.

The warming center, which is activated based on temperature thresholds, is meant to be a resource for anyone in need of a safe, warm space.
On Monday, forecasts show a low of minus 6 degrees. The temperature for the remainder of the week is expected to vary from 14 degrees Monday to 19 degrees Friday, according to Accuweather.
