AURORA, IL — Aurora Police Chief Kristen Ziman says she is "ready to get back to work." Ziman, who was diagnosed with coronavirus in late March, took to Facebook to thank Aurora residents for their outpouring of support.
Ziman wrote, " I just spent the entire morning reading through the eloquent and inspiring comments and in-box messages regarding CPD and the Big Rona Virus and my heart is exploding."
She went on to explain that she was tested for coronavirus on March 21 after experiencing symptoms for about 10 days. She says by the time she was tested she had already started to feel better.

Ziman wrote, "[N]ow, I am happy to report that I am feeling AMAZING and ready to get back to work."
Ziman recently made it into the final three for the Chicago Police Superintendent job. She was passed up for former Dallas, Texas, top cop David Brown. Of this, she wrote, "As for CPD, I never expected to make it as far as I did in the process so I am PROUD. And now I'm even MORE energized to serve the BEST city in the state"
Ziman then encouraged all Aurora residents to heed Governor J.B. Pritzker's stay-at-home order "so we can all get ungrounded."
