Aurora Police Department Impacted By Nationwide Cell Outages
Certain cell phone carriers are reporting a widespread outage impacting mobile-to-landline calls, Aurora police said Wednesday morning.
AURORA, IL — The Aurora Police Department is impacted by widespread cell outages Wednesday morning, officials said.
Mobile-to-landline calls are affected, resulting in callers receiving an “all circuits are busy” message when they attempt to call the department. If this happens when people need police assistance, they should call 911 instead, officials said in an alert.
Verizon Wireless is one of the impacted networks, Patch reported. Downdetector listed a massive spike in Verizon outages beginning around 6:42 a.m. Wednesday, peaking at 8:42 a.m. with more than 2,600 reported outages.
