Aurora Seeks Public Input on Growth, Development Along South Farnsworth

City officials are seeking feedback from Aurora residents on what they would like to see in regards to the future growth and development along South Farnsworth Avenue.

The city of Aurora has initiated the Farnsworth Feasibility Study and will host a public open house from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Allen Elementary School, 700 S. Farnsworth Ave., to review exhibits and provide comments about the stretch of Farnsworth from New York Street to U.S. Route 30, according to a city of Aurora press release.

The open house format will allow for attendees to visit at any point during the three hours to review exhibits, provide comments and discuss issues with staff members.

The Farnsworth Avenue Feasibility Study is a comprehensive look at existing roadway conditions, capacity issues and future transportation needs for the Farnsworth Avenue Corridor from New York Street south to U.S. Route 30. This section of Farnsworth is part of the Strategic Regional Arterial (SRA) roadway network for northeastern Illinois identified by the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP).
