Aurora Seeks Residents' Input On Long-Term Consolidated Plan

AURORA, IL -- Aurora city officials are getting ready to draft up their consolidated plan of long-term priorities for 2020-24 and they're looking for input from residents. The city's consolidated plan is required for Aurora to get access to funds from the Department of Housing to help provide homes for families with low to moderate incomes.

Residents are invited to share their input at a forum and public hearing on Aug. 14 and in online and phone surveys. According to a news release, public feedback is crucial, as the consolidated plan will outline how to designate $12 million in federal funds over a five-year timeline.

* Written comments can be sent to Community Development Manager Chris Ragona at 44 E. Downer Place, Aurora, IL, 60505 or via email at cragona@aurora-il.org. Deadline is Aug. 30 at 5 p.m.

In addition to helping provide affordable housing, the various federal funds included in the consolidated are used for community development and infrastructure in low-income neighborhoods, emergency housing aid, and neighborhood revitalization projects.
