Aurora Teen Critically Injured In Crash On Lake Street
Police say weather conditions prevented a medical helicopter from responding to the crash.
AURORA, IL -- An Aurora teen is in critical condition after a crash that left him trapped inside of his vehicle late Monday. The teen's car crashed into a utility pole near the intersection of Lake and Williams Streets just before 11:15 a.m., police say.
When members of the Aurora Fire Department arrived at the scene, they were able to get the teen out of the car. A medical helicopter had been requested to airlift him to a nearby hospital, but was unable to respond because of weather conditions.
Members of the Aurora Police Department's traffic investigations team used 3-D mapping to recreate the crash scene. This helped them find a second driver they believe may have seen or been part of the crash.
