NORTH AURORA, IL — Police in North Aurora say a three-time vehicle burglary suspect was foiled when he tried to return the boots he stole from a car at a store where the victim was working. Misael Bautista, 20, of the 500 block of Cherrywood Drive, North Aurora, reportedly stole the boots and other items during a car burglary Saturday morning.

Police say that around 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Bautista burglarized a car in the 600 block of Oak Street and took two pairs of boots, $10 in change, a utility knife and a pack of cigarettes. Later that day, police say Bautista went to a local store to try to return the boots for cash. That's when the employee who had first bought the boots recognized them and called the police.

This is the third recent burglary arrest for Bautista, who was charged with burglary in the 500 block of East Victoria Circle on Sept. 18 and with multiple burglaries in the 500 and 600 blocks of Cherrywood Dr. and the 600 block of Birchwood Drive on Dec. 1.
